Water Heater Failure
Water heater failure is something that a home owner needs to watch out for. Technically a water heater needs to be replaced about every ten years. It is important to check your water heater before any problem occurs, such as any leaking, rusty water, the age of your water heater and any loud noises coming from your water heater. These are four steps that need to be taken when deciding whether or not your water heater needs to be replaced. The first step is, knowing the age of your water heater. One way to inspect when your water heater was made is to check the serial number. The serial number is able to provide you with the age of your water heater. The second step is to see if there is any rusty water coming from your water heater. A sign of a failing water heater is rusty water coming from the hot side of the piping in your home. The third step is to check to see if there is noise or shaking coming from your water heater. The noise or shaking can cause building up of sediment at the bottom of your water heater which hardens and causes the water heater to rumble and fail. The final step is to check to see if there is water around your water heater that has leaked. All these steps are very important to follow and SERVPRO of St. George would be happy to assist you with your needs by checking and completing any work that needs to be done. Are you ready?
It's always a good time to work on your Preparedness Checklist. Use the checklist to make sure you have these basic items available to you. Cash is one of the things that most people don't think about. In an emergency, banks and ATM's might not be available, so it's a good idea to have some cash on hand.
